I just want to share what the Lord has been doing in all of us at The Ramp. The pastors and my RSM classmates seem to be touching on the same theme and that is a spiritual “reset” in all of us as the body of Christ.
I think it is so easy for us to get caught up in all of our (only) needs. Sometimes we get in this place in prayer where all we talk to the Lord about is our needs and what we are wanting (Just like myself). Or maybe it is not our needs or wants we are asking the Lord for, but maybe it is letting ourselves strive to be on the platform or being overwhelmed by ministry.
Hey, we have all been there. We have all been to the place where we are overwhelmed by those things and seemed to be constantly asking the Lord for something. He is a good Father so it is easy for us to keep going to Him when we need the blessing because we know He provides and satisfies all of our needs.
All of the stuff that He gives us is great! He is our provider, and He will never let us down. But let’s take a moment to just check our hearts and ask ourselves this question: Would we still love Him without all of the stuff He gives us? Is this really a relationship where we just want to get to know Him more and love Him rather than using Him like a Genie in a Bottle? Do we really want Him all the time or only the times when we need Him?
Ask the Lord to take you back to the place where it all started. Where all you wanted was to seek His face and know His heart. Where did it all start? Was it that youth camp? Was it that time in High school where you couldn’t help but tell everyone that God loves them? Was it when you first got saved on that Wednesday night or Sunday morning? Allow Him to take you back to where it all started between you and Him. The place where you were so deeply in love with Him that was the only thing that mattered.
Reset is such a great word for this time. I challenge you, as I am doing also, to a cleansing of the heart. Allow the Lord to check your heart. Allow Him to reveal things in you that you did not even know about. Is it gossip? Is it bad attitude? Is it pornography residue that still pops up in your mind? Is it manipulating people? Is it insecurities that are still deep down inside?
Allow Him to reveal those things and cleanse your heart. I don’t know about you, but I want to be the best me I can be. To do that, I have to allow Him to check my heart and reveal what needs to be dealt with. I have to allow a cleansing to be done in me.
We are resetting our minds and our hearts so we can be the best we can be. It is all up from here, Family! Let’s keep going from glory to glory!
