Dear family,
My big brother, Sean, and I use to have a weird relationship (even though we still do). He seemed to always try to avoid me when I, on the other hand, desired him to at least act like he loved me or would just play with me. But in his eyes, like every other big brother, I was the annoying little sister. The first time I ever hugged him was after he moved out. Every time at the dinner table, we all held hands and Dad prayed before we ate. But Sean would barely even touch my hand. In fact, he would either grab my wrist or just touch me with his fingers because he claimed I had germs.
Sometimes that’s how we are to God. We go to Him to just touch Him when we ‘have to’ or when we ‘need to’. But we don’t earnestly seek Him. He gave up everything for you, just so that you might possibly love Him back. Seems like one of those romantic movies, “I will lay down my life for you or I’ll give you everything.” But it’s even more romantic than a movie, because He did just that, He died for you because He is so in love with you. He literally loves you to death.. or shall I say to life, because Christ is now alive and in Him, you can be alive too and live eternally in a wonderful place.
Are you earnestly seeking Him and taking part in this relationship or just touching Him enough and letting Him do all the work?
Bella
