How to grab every opportunity to declare God’s name!

,

Dear family,

We, as Christians, have a mission.  Whether it’s at school, in a classroom, or across the world, God has a mission for all of us.  But the thing is, we can get easily motivated to jump off a plane and feed children across the world, but not as motivated to go tell that register lady about Jesus.  We can be easily motivated to swim across seas and give Africa fresh water, but not as motivated to tell your testimony in front of the church.

We get motivated by the things that seem so grand, but not the ones that seem so small.  But every opportunity that you get to share the name of the Lord, is grand, because everything is big because it leads to that big story and that big story is the glory of God.

We need to start grabbing every opportunity that shares His name and here are a few things to help you do just that.

1. Get rid of any fear.
Fear is the number one thing that keeps us from doing God’s will.  It says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God did not give us the spirit of fear.  If He didn’t give us that, then who did? Yes, Satan did, so why are we picking up chains from someone we aren’t a slave to?  Lay the spirit of fear down before Jesus and be set free.

2. Do not conform.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is– His good, pleasing and perfect will.-Romans 12:2

Do not do what everybody else is doing.  We all have different destinies and different gifts, but if we do what everybody else is doing or what our friend is doing, we can’t do the will He has for us.

3. Keep your motives in check.
Ask yourself, “Who is it glorifying?”  Are you doing it because a certain guy might notice? Are you doing it because mama or daddy is making you?  Doing God’s will should motivate you, whether big or small.  He should be the one you are glorifying.

4. Trust God that wherever you go or whatever you do, He will provide your needs and get you there safely.
You can’t do God’s will without faith that He will provide and bring you there safely.  Think of Paul in the bible, He knew where God wanted Him to go, so He had faith God would take him there and that’s what God did.  If it’s God’s will to take you somewhere, know He will provide the money and your needs for you to go.

5. Get out of your comfort zone.

Comfortable Christians cannot save the world.

Once you get comfortable in what God has carried you into, take another step deeper in this relationship with God.  You are called to continually pursue Him in everything you do, not to be comfortable. Constantly try to become better in your relationship.

6. Be ready in season and out of season.
2 Timothy 4:2 says be ready in season and out of season. God will know your up for the task and your able to do it. He knows you better than you know yourself.  So prepare for what He has for you, in prayer and in the word.

7. Fear only God.
Fearing God means having a healthy respect for His great power and doing your best to honor and obey God in everything you do and say.

Now, with all that being said, family, grab every opportunity you can to declare His name.  Make yourself available to Him.
Peace be with y’all, family!
